Celebrate Survivorship. Inspire Strength. Encourage Others.

June is National Cancer Survivor Month. Join us as we honor and inspire cancer survivors, and all those who support them in their journey. Life beyond cancer is possible. Let’s celebrate what that means for you and inspire others who may need it!

We invite you to share a word of encouragement, a story of hope, or a favorite quote or poem to help uplift and encourage others who are going through their cancer journey.

Never give up. I was diagnosed almost 5 years ago with stage 3 endometrial cancer. My abdominal cavity was filled with over 8 large tumors. It took me a bit to find a doctor that would perform surgery but I did. Today I feel wonderful and very blessed.

I had cancer on my voice box in 2008 and again 2012. I now have a prosthetic voicebox and have been cancer free since 2012. Be strong and hold your faith in God.

When I was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer in February 2019, I thought my world was falling apart. My work family at Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital were so incredibly kind, supportive and helpful to me while I went thru chemo & surgery. They are a special group of people.

I was devastated when I was diagnosed in 2019. I’m so blessed that I got through it and came out stronger on the other side. You can too. I make sure to live every day to the fullest and take nothing for granted.
